Touring heavily with Tune-Yards, Solas and Jayme Stoneās Lomax / Folklife projects bore Unzip The Horizon - Moiraās 2018 solo album of lonesome, nomadic songs. An instinctual collaborator, she was ready to return to harmony singing and the joy of powerful voices in 2020 with VOCO. In Our Voices is the result of that return. Found sounds and improvisations for dance theatre. Weaving recordings from my travels ā churches in Mexico, streams in California, forests of New England into a thick texture of voice and percussion. The album follows the birth, awakening, work, disorientation, exile, returning of a human soul on its way across āsacred groundā.
